All Aboard Carolinas is building a stronger network of local and regional voices to support better passenger rail across North Carolina and South Carolina.
Passenger rail is a statewide and regional issue, but many of the questions that matter most are local — station access, service awareness, community support, local priorities, and how people connect to the rail network where they live. Chapters help bring that local perspective into the larger conversation.

WHY CHAPTERS MATTER
Passenger rail is a regional issue, but many of the concerns people care about most are rooted in the places where they live.
STATEWIDE, BUT LOCAL
The chapter model is intended to expand over time as local interest, support, and organizing capacity grow across the Carolinas.
BUILD TO GROW
Why Chapters Matter
Local chapters make it easier for people to stay connected to passenger rail issues in their own communities while also supporting AAC’s broader mission across the Carolinas.
A chapter can help:
Share local updates and meeting information
Identify station, service, or rider concerns in a specific area
Connect local supporters to statewide advocacy efforts
Build visibility for passenger rail in communities across the region
Strengthen communication between residents, riders, and the broader AAC network
A Statewide Network with Local Roots
All Aboard Carolinas is working toward a model that combines a statewide perspective with local participation.
That means:
tracking major rail issues across North and South Carolina
supporting local conversation and involvement
building stronger representation in communities served by existing stations and future corridors
helping local voices become part of the broader regional conversation
As the organization grows, chapters can provide a practical way for supporters to organize around local needs while staying connected to AAC’s larger goals.
PILOT CHAPTER
Charlotte Area Chapter
At launch, the Charlotte Area Chapter serves as AAC’s pilot local chapter.
This chapter helps demonstrate how local involvement can support the broader mission by:
sharing local meeting information
highlighting issues affecting riders and communities in the Charlotte area
connecting local supporters to statewide passenger rail priorities
building a model that future chapters can follow
If you are in or near the Charlotte region and want to stay connected to local AAC activity, this is a good place to begin.
CHARLOTTE CHAPTER SPOT LIGHT
Future Chapters
AAC’s long-term goal is to build broader local representation across the Carolinas, especially in communities connected to existing Amtrak stations and key passenger rail corridors.
Future chapters may emerge in areas where there is:
local interest and member support
a need for stronger visibility around passenger rail issues
an opportunity to connect community concerns with statewide advocacy
enough momentum to support regular communication or local gatherings
As new chapters are added, this page will grow to reflect that broader network.
